Message from the Principal

photo of high school principal, nick viegut, wearing black collared shirtWelcome to Spencer Middle and High School! We are excited to partner with you as your student grows academically, socially, and personally. Our dedicated staff is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students are challenged to reach their full potential, discover their passions, and prepare for success beyond graduation. Together with our families and community, we strive to inspire lifelong learners, responsible citizens, and confident leaders. We look forward to an outstanding school year and are proud to have you as part of the Rocket family!

Here are a few tips to help your child achieve their full potential:

  • Check grades regularly through Infinite Campus and review Canvas for upcoming assignments and due dates.
  • Encourage consistent attendance. Being in class every day is one of the biggest factors in academic success.
  • Establish routines for homework, studying, and getting enough sleep.
  • Teach self-advocacy. Encourage your student to communicate with teachers when they have questions or need additional support.
  • Ensure adequate sleep and nutrition: A well-rested and nourished child is better able to focus and learn.
  • Reach out early. If your student is struggling academically, socially, or emotionally, don't hesitate to contact a teacher, counselor, or administrator—we're here to help.
  • Communicate with the teacher: Use ParentSquare to stay in regular contact with your child's teacher to discuss their progress, address any concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support their learning.

We believe that by working together, we can create a strong foundation for your child's academic and personal growth. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office if you have any questions or need additional support.

Warm regards,
Nick Viegut

  • ParentSquare

All schools in our district use ParentSquare for school communication primarily with email, text, and app notifications.

ParentSquare automatically syncs with our student information system to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home. Learn more and get started today by viewing our ParentSquare web page.
